Curtain Raiser

The Curtain-Raiser event for the Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference (APAC) on Civil Aviation was successfully held on 15th July 2024 at the ITC Maurya, New Delhi. This event set the stage for the main conference scheduled for 11th – 12th September 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The conference is being co-hosted by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

  • Participation from key officials from various ministries within the Government of India.
  • Delegates from the APAC Regional Office of ICAO.

India has made significant strides in the aviation sector, with annual passenger traffic projected to reach 250 million. Efforts are underway to make aviation more accessible and affordable for all, ensuring that a broader segment of the population can benefit from air travel.

Emphasized the growth trajectory of global aviation, highlighting India's role as one of the fastest-growing markets. He mentioned the expected increase in global passengers from 4.5 billion this year to 11.5 billion by 2050.

The main conference on 11th-12th September 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, will build upon the discussions and collaborations initiated at the Curtain-Raiser event. It aims to advance the agenda of sustainable and resilient aviation growth, continuing the momentum from the Curtain-Raiser.
